Seminars Through the Years

Art Outside
As the title suggests, we will make Art out in the natural world, mostly off campus but occasionally also in our own surroundings. Each student will keep a sketch book as well as painting, drawing in pastels and making site specific sculptures and creations. On rainy days we will visit art studios and exhibits (transportation permitting), work from our sketches in other mediums and look at Nature-based Art by artists of the past. Observational drawing skills will be explored, whether of the scene before us or objects we discover.
