Students in this seminar will design entries for the ninth annual Toshiba ExploraVision Awards Competition. To prepare an entry, students work in groups of two to four, simulating Research and Development teams, along with a team coach and optional mentor. Each team selects a technology present in the home, school or community. The team then explores what that technology does, how it works, when and why it was invented. The students then must project into the future what that technology could be like in 20 years from now. Finally, they must convey their vision to others though both a written description and five graphics simulating web pages. Each will be submitted to Toshiba far a national judging should a group be among the 24 regional winners, they will need to work beyond the scope of their seminar develop their idea and compete for $10,000 savings bonds, laptop computers, digital cameras, and a trip an award banquet in Washington D.C. 9 Students
