Seminars Through the Years

Students will be learning about people who have come to the United States as immigrants through the first-person stories of individuals and find out the different reasons why people have made the often difficult journey to America. Students get an understanding of the experience of being a new arrival at Ellis Island at the turn of twentieth century. There will be a lot of in class work finding out information, reading,writing, interviewing and discussing with peers and possible guest speakers. The seminar will not have homework but you will be asked to work independently and with a group. Limited to 8 students
