An introduction to the glorious Italian culture. Wešll plan a possible fantasy trip to Italy; learn about the various regions, their history, geography, Art, and, of course, cooking! Ancient Rome, The Renaissance, Roberto Bengini. Students will master simple survival phrases in Italian, capice? We will also watch actual Italian movies, hear from local citizens of Italian descent or experience, listen to music from Neapolitan love songs to Opera to Paolo Conti, study or copy famous works of Art... and of course learn to cook basic Italian cuisine, as improvised facilities permit (with a likely emphasis on Madamešs Northern heritage, what her nonna made). A field trip to an Italian restaurant? the North End in Boston? all possibilities...
