WATER QUALITY PROJECTS INDEX

Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School

Purpose, to monitor the following water quality indicators in Orleans' salt ponds along Pleasant Bay: temperature, dissolved oxygen, nitrate nitrogen, total nitrogen, phosphorous, pH, and fecal coliform bacteria

To create water quality data that can serve as a baseline as the barrier beach/ embayment dynamics and the human impact dynamics change with time

To identify areas where the nutrient load is high in order to inform public policy in the areas of septic management and the impact of surface runoff into the embayment

Lonnie's Pond Project
