Lighthouse Charter School Summer Options

Charter Adventure Rec Program July 6 to August 21 9:00 to 3:00
A seven week adventure/exploration camp that will be offered every weekday. It is the perfect solution for the Summer doldrums and promises to be anything but boring. Kayaking, ̃shing, sailing, swimming, cooking, playing, hiking, tubing, building, biking, and exploring are just a few of the things the C.A.R.P. expects to do this summer! Spaces are limited, so sign up as soon as possible! Coordinated by Brian Bates, Tony Williams, and Catherine O'Leary. C.A.R.P. is open to any student entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade at CCLCS. We are also accepting outgoing CCLCS 8th graders. Cost is $60 per day. This includes everything except lunch.

Nature and Art Program of Cape Cod: AGES 7-11, JULY 6-AUGUST 14, 9:00-4:30
Parents may sign up for just one week or all seven. Field trips, weekly horseback riding, and snacks are included in the weekly cost. Students are required to bring a bag lunch and towel daily. There is a max. of 11 students per week, and spaces will ̃ll up fast. For more information call or email Nancy at (508) 274-9031 or scrimshawbynancy (at) yahoo.com. Cost is $250 for one week. Parents that sign up for all six weeks will be given a 20% discount.

My Cape Cod: Journaling workshop JULY 20-24, 10:30-12:30
In this week long workshop, teens in grades 6-8 will learn the basics of journaling, which is not the same as keeping a diary. By combining photos and personal memories of their lives on Cape Cod, the teens will create a journal of their experiences and observations. Journaling is a great way to create stories without having to make it all up--it's your life. This workshop is offered for FREE at the Brewster Ladies Library, coordinated by Amy Woods, a CCLCS educator.

Scrapbooking Workshop August 3, 5, & 7, TIME T.B.A. M, W, F
Teens can learn scrapbooking techniques and new ways to create albums, no matter what their experience level is. The Brewster Ladies Library is providing materials and a meeting place for this three day workshop. This FREE workshop is being run by Amy Woods. Participants should bring memories, pictures, and mementos to make their album great.

Carpentry Camp August 3-7, 9:00-3:00
The sky's the limit with the right materials, power tools, skills, and a little guidance provided by Josh Stewart in this week-long carpentry camp. Participants will work as a team on one big project as well as be able to tinker on their own smaller projects. Cost is $60 per day. Tools and materials provided.

Lighthouse Young Writers' Camp JULY 20-24, 9:00-3:00
LYWC is a week-long enrichment experience that will bring young writers together to tap creative energies. LYWC is a hands on writing program designed for budding writers by writers. Susanna Graham-Pye is an award-winning journalist and an educator at CCLCS. She, and other guest writers, will explore writing and its relationship to the world around us. Participants must sign up for either 3 days ($180) or 5 days ($280).

  • 2009 Reach Field Hockey Camp - A camp focusing on customized instruction within an encouraging and fun-focused environment. Our goals are to introduce the game, teach and refine skills, support self-esteem through physical challenges, develop friendships and provide healthy high school and college role models for each camper.   • Brewster Rec Summer Party Kick-off the Summer with your friends and enjoy fun activities and games on Tuesday, June 2, from 4-8 p.m. at Drummer Boy Park in Brewster. It's the kick-off event for Brewster Recreation and the many summer programs offered. It's free and all are welcome
  • Science Camp Workshops offered by the Cape Cod Junior Tech Council (508 274-9031)
