Join Mr. Trull for Wednesdays of fun, learning, observation and appreciation of Cape Cod's natural beauty. We will visit woods and beaches, ponds and the ocean as we search for and learn about some of the Cape's wildest creatures and coolest habitats.
Wednesdays from July 2, until Aug, 20, $60/day....All 8 days - $420
Ponding - We will visit several different ponds and pond systems as we net and observe wetland animals. With great respect for our environments we will catch and observe frogs, snakes, turtles, tadpoles and all kinds of pond creatures you have never seen. It's fun to get wet feet!
Birding - So many species of birds are migrating and nesting through July and August. We will visit and observe beautiful beaches and seabird nesting colonies. We'll use spotting scope and binoculars to observe sandpipers and plovers on the beaches and tidal flats to learn about birds and their habitats. We will walk quiet woodland roads and hear quiet sounds of summer.
Whale watching* - We'll travel aboard the Dolphin Fleet whale watching boats to observe marine mammals and birds of the open sea. *($5 above daily fee)
Hiking and Tracking - Walking the paths and beaches throughout the program will allow us to learn about animals, plants, animal homes and animal behavior. Students will learn to track and be observant in the world of Nature.
This is a Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School Program led by 7th grade Science teacher and Field Naturalist Peter Trull. We will travel by van each Wednesday to various sites. Ten participants each day.
