Grade 7:
All - Please return your Museum of Science field trip permission slips and payment ASAP. It would be great to know before vacation. Also, please note that homework warnings were handed out last week to students who have completed less than 80% of their assignments in any class; if the work is not made up by THURSDAY they are ineligible to go on the trip and your money will be refunded. These slips were supposed to be signed and returned but we haven't received ANY back from students with parent signatures. If you are unsure of whether your child received a HW warning, please ask him or her or you may email a teacher.
Social Studies - No HW this week as we wrap up the Holocaust unit. Students have done a great job with this difficult material. Happy holidays!
Grade 8:
All - The 8th Grade will be going to Charles Moore Ice Arena for some skating holiday fun on Friday morning. Everyone should be dressed appropriately (no shorts/t-shirts!) and should bring skates if they own them. Rentals are available for those without skates. The cost is $5 for all students (rentals included). Let us know if that is a problem for your family. Please look for a blue form coming home today, and return the bottom by Wednesday. Happy holidays!
Science - Students should continue to study their notes for mini-quizzes on the history of atomic theory that are being held each day. In addition, students should be getting past the planning stages and starting to grow their crystals. Project is due on Tuesday, January 10th.
Social Studies - Nice job on the Artifact Projects. A special thanks to parents who schlepped their students around for this project! We will have a short government test on Wednesday (no paragraphs/IDs) Check out the study guide for an 'early holiday gift' students may bring to the test! Lastly, we will finish the week by working in class on a book about American cultural traditions around the holidays for students in Monastyryska, Ukraine.
